About Early European Settlers of North America
This site contains the genealogy of the some of the earliest 17th & 18th
century European immigrants to the continent. Their origins cover a wide
cultural swath ranging from the earliest Ulster Scots, Dutch, French
Huguenots, Palatine Germans and English.
The Anderson's and Mann's of Northern Ireland came to Flying Point, Maine but
the Turks left Antrim for the Appalachian region of Virginia. The Van Cleve's
and La Tourette's settled Manhattan and Staten Islands and the Crans were
immigrants to the upper Hudson River Valley. The English Kendall's came to
Massachusetts. These peoples underwent a cultural evolution and became the
first "Americans".
